Kashi Atlanta Mantra Group
Please come join Kashi Atlanta Mantra Group as we explore mantras and sounds from around the world. Mantra has been used since antiquity as a tool of transformation in all areas of life: physical, spiritual, financial, relational and intellectual. It is a combination of particular words and sounds that embody different forms of Divine consciousness which promote harmony in all areas of life. The repetition of these specific sounds can open up one’s whole being and help one heal and expand in any area where there is struggle. Mantra can also be used to create specific results by aligning us with the energies we wish to become and bring into our life. Mantra can be done for self or directed to help others toward healing and peace. The ancient Hindu teachings say that chanting a mantra with more than one person exponentially empowers the purpose of the mantra and the energies it carries. If you have never chanted before or even if you have a personal practice, come and enjoy the power and energy that comes from group chant in a sacred space!

Following The Thread of Shakti:
The Path to Everyday Bliss
with Swami Jaya Devi Bhagavati, RYT 500
The thread of shakti does not exist in the past or the future; it is only in the present moment. It is the shakti of the whole universe, but you learn to find the thread that is uniquely you. You learn to listen to the full expression of the self. To find the thread of shakti, you must learn deep inner listening, so you begin to hear the rhythm of the universe, the rhythm of your heart, the rhythm of your life. You learn to listen for the next right thing to do and to make choices from this sacred space. Whether your heart is overflowing or your heart is breaking, this connection is what makes you aware of the ongoing presence of joy. It allows you to feel that thread of love that runs through everything.

Join Swami Jaya Devi for this weekend workshop and learn to find the thread of shakti within you. Swami Jaya Devi is a powerful, insightful teacher whose passion for humanity is evident in her warm teaching style, her wisdom and her deep commitment to living compassion.

Yoga and Meditation through the Niyamas
with Skanda

The Niyamas, the second limb of the Eight-Limbed Path, are the daily practices that allow us to move towards a space of peace and harmony. We let go of the reactivity of the ego and find balance in our lives internally and externally. Our whole being - mentally, physically and emotionally - feels “enlightened” as we move deeper into these daily practices. These disciplines include purity, contentment, discipline, self study and surrender/ devotion. This series will explore each niyama individually through asana, mantra, pranayama, meditation and some journaling, and will provide opportunities to look within ourselves at where these daily practices come more easily and where our inner work lies - so that we may create a deeper sense of wholeness and well being. Both experienced practitioners and beginners are invited.
Five week series: Mondays, starts June 3; from 6-7:15 p.m. - $70 ($60 by May 24; drop-ins welcome)

Meditation & Gentle Yoga Series: Resonate with Bliss

With the summer season upon us, it’s the perfect time to tap into your innate ability to resonate with bliss, Ananda. You will experience meditations that feature yogic breaths (pranayamas), sacred sounds (mantras), as well as hand and finger positions (mudras) which activate the limbic system and different nerve centers, which creates a sealed circuit of energy to deepen your meditation. You will also be lead through a short sequence of gentle yoga postures to relieve the body of tension, creating ease in the body, so you can sit more comfortably in meditation. Yoga is comprised of many forms and techniques that bring you back to a state of wholeness. Meditation is yoga for the mind, pranayama is yoga for the heart and asana is yoga for the body. This series is excellent for practitioners of all levels. Be inspired to deepen and/or recommit to your practice!

Go Deeper! With Pranayama
with Skanda
Pranyama translates as "control of the breath" or "control of the life force". This eight-week asana series will explore seven different foundational yogic breaths throughout an all levels yoga asana practice. Each class will focus on one breath; the last class will integrate all seven. These foundational yogic breaths will include ujayii, kapalabhati, bhastrika, aunoloma viloma, sitali, bhramari, and the silent Om breath. The intention of this series is to deepen your knowledge, understanding and experience of each breath, both in stillness and in asana. Swami Jaya Devi always teaches, “if you can change your breath, you can change your mind.” We are continually reminded on the yogic path that the breath is our key to the moment and to connecting with the Self. The breath is one of the greatest tools in transformation; it has the ability to heal the heart and quiet the mind. The awareness of our breath is our direct connection to our Source. Each of the breaths have a different energetic focus to help us heal and grow while helping us overcome the negative mind. Awaken your discipline of the breath and step towards your own wholeness in this all levels asana and pranayama class. All levels are welcome, from beginner to experienced.
