Spring Equinox Yoga and Meditation:
Practices to Cultivate Lightness and Heat
with Candika Jaya Alford, RYT
Connect more deeply with earth-based rhythms by exploring a yoga practice designed to honor this time of year.
This is the time of creating, manifesting and bringing into being! Light has returned and now is the time to nurture the seeds you planted in the new year. In this workshop you will learn to become more sensitive to your Self. This allows you to move from your true center, a place of stability and strength, so that you can radiate health and wellness.
As we re-emerge from the hibernation of winter where lower energy prevails, we need to boost our energy, cleanse and reorganize ourselves for the new season. The stress of the holidays, over-eating, irregular schedules and lack of light wreak havoc on our mind and body. We might feel a bit heavy, sluggish and even anxious. This can all be brought back into balance through intentional yoga practices. This sort of change helps dormant aspects of ourselves re-awaken and we become re-inspired! We can reconnect with the Earth’s rhythms to honor the cycle we are in and celebrate the return of the light through yoga and meditation. In this way, we honor that light and life is ever triumphant.
Our yoga practice will manifest this with standing and balancing poses, core strengthening, twists and cleansing breath practices. To support the hard work that the liver and gallbladder are doing post-winter, we will wring them out with this stimulating yoga practice, and follow it up with a rejuvenating meditation. Invoke and honor the incoming spring cycle and celebrate your emerging light with us.
Tuesday, March 20, from 7 - 9 p.m. - $40
