The
Word from the Streets -
November 7, 2007
What a great day out on the streets. Our Candika, who hasn't been out with us in a very long time, was with us today. So many were so glad to see her and it made their day. Charles at Woodruff park is one of them. Every week he is always asking "How is Candika?" and today he got to see for himself!!! There were happy blissful smiles.
We also heard good news that Rick, from the Peachtree and Pine center has gotten a good permanent job working in steel. He is very happy and said this may be the last Wednesday we see him. As much as we'll miss him, we are very happy and proud for him.
There were also a lot of prayers being asked for today. A number of our folks are going through an intense medical time. We heard that Connie has just had surgery and is having a hard time since she's been released from the hospital. Also, Jeri, the sweetest thing, is going in for surgery tomorrow for his thyroid and needs our prayers. Chris asked for prayers to help him with his inner strength as he experiences struggles in being a spiritual person with spiritual pursuits living out on the streets. He is a courageous beautiful young man that shines as a light in the darkness.
There is so much beauty here if only you dare to look. It costs nothing to give to another, and yet it means so much. In the words of our Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati "Serve, serve, serve, and don't look back to see who's taking it." Surely, this must truly be liberation!
In gratitude for the ability to give,
All our hearts and love,
