Kashi Atlanta
offers ongoing instruction in several styles of yoga. Levels vary from beginner to advanced. Classes also include pranayama and guided meditation, as well as a class devoted to Spiritual Growth & Meditation. A broad spectrum of practitioners is represented, and each is encouraged to grow in awareness as they progress.

Unlimited yoga $135/month.

Full-time students, people on disability or otherwise financially challenged: A discount is available for those who really need it, please ask.
Spiritual Counseling Sessions are available with Jaya Devi, who is an ordained minister within Ma Jaya’s interfaith teaching, where you can address any personal challenges – spiritual, emotional, or physical – or develop a customized personal practice.
Private Sessions are available with members of our staff to thoroughly enhance your practice. Sessions are available in yoga, meditation, pilates, weight training, reiki and body work.

August 29 , 2007: Bhakti: the Interfaith Path of Devotion and Love
Over 40 people joined Swami Anjani, one of Ma Jaya's sannyas, for an evening meditation and lecture on understanding Bhakti (devotion and love for the Divine). Click here for images.

August 24-25 , 2007: Embracing the Silence of the Soul
Over 70 yogis and yoginis from Atlanta to Ft Walton, Florida gathered at Dragonfly Yoga Studies for Jaya Devi Bhagavati's teachings on Embracing the Silence of the Soul. Click here for images.

July 15, 2007: CYTT Graduation
The final weekend of this year’s Classical Yoga Teacher’s Training class was held July 13-15. Students participated in a posture clinic Friday Night, lead by Candika Buck, and were adjusted during the clinic by 4 of Kashi’s senior instructors. Afterwards, the students participated sat with the instructors, asking any questions they had regarding teaching and practicing classical yoga. Click here for images.

June 30 , 2007: Kashi Welcomes Kirtan Artist Girish
Kirtan artist Girish performed his modern interpretation of classical devotional Kirtan for over 50 yogis on Saturday. Girish played chants off of his original groundbreaking CD Reveal and more recent release Shiva Machine. Half the crowd got up and danced as everyone was taken into the blissful vibration of these ancient love songs to the Divine. Click here for images.

June 27 , 2007: Laxsmi Puja for Prosperity
Over 120 people gathered to celebrate, chant and ask for abundance in the coming year at Kashi Atlanta's annual Laxsmi Puja celebration. Click here for images.

May 25-27 , 2007: Students Begin Teaching $5 Yoga Classes
This year’s class has officially taken over our $5 Yoga classes! Pairs of students began teaching our $5 Yoga classes earlier this month. At least two other students have committed to taking each class and evaluating the teaching of their fellow classmates honestly, and with awareness. This weekend, students learned about the bhandas, yogic locks, and how to use them in asanas. Throughout the weekend, students practiced teaching asanas and pranayama (breathwork) to a partner, and then to three other students. Click here for images.

May 19 , 2007: Kashi Yogathon a Success!
Over 50 yogis and yoginis gathered in Piedmont Park to raise money for Kashi Atlanta's community service programs. Yogis, accompanied by Kashi Atlanta kirtan (yogic chant) artists, completed 131 sun salutations and raised over $10,000 for homeless men women and children living on the streets in downtown Atlanta and children at Egleston and Scottish Rite children's hospitals. May 11-21 , 2007: Glowing from Kashi's Spring Ten Day Detox
On Friday May 11, 67 yogis of all levels gathered to begin Kashi's Ten Day Yoga Detox. During the opening session, Jaya Devi guided students through each of the upcoming ten days in detail, teaching them how to do each cleanse and discussing the benefits of each one. Six days later, participants broke their three day juice fast with a traditional Sikh Lungar. On Day 10, Jaya Devi and the Yoga Detox participants met for a closing session to discuss how to keep their bodies, minds and spirits clean and healthy. May 4-6 , 2007: Teacher's Training Students are Teaching!
This year’s Teacher Training students are now halfway done with their course! Friday and Saturday, the Karma Yoga project came to life – students, staff, and a few regular Street Meals participants brought over 400 backpacks filled with toiletries, homemade cookies, and drinks to Peachtree and Pine shelters and neighboring parks. Later that day, students worked on their asanas back at Kashi. Sunday, students learned how to structure a class, and started practicing their teaching with partners. Click here for images.

May 4-5 , 2007: Spring Karma Yoga Project: Kashi Students Deliver Backpacks to the Homeless
This year's Classical Yoga Teachers Training students gathered together in the spirit of karma yoga to fill 300 backpacks with useful items for men, women and children living on the streets in Atlanta and delivered them to the Peachtree & Pine emergency shelter and in nearby parks. April 25, 2007: The Soul Has No Gender
Kashi Atlanta hosted Swami Dhumavati from Kashi Ashram. She is one of Ma Jaya's sanyassin and a longtime resident of Kashi, Florida. In darshan (lecture and meditation) she helped us explore how the deep nature of one’s true self transcends gender. Click here for images.

January 26 - 27, 2007: Bhagavan Das comes to Atlanta
Kashi Atlanta residents were blessed to host internationally renowned Kirtan Artist Bhagavan Das during his recent trip and performance at Kashi Atlanta on January 26-27, 2007. This was his last performance before returning to India for the first time in almost 40 years! Click here for images.

January 12 - 22, 2007: Kashi Atlanta Ten Day Yoga Detox
Over 80 people joined Kashi members and residents in the January 2007 (much needed) Ten Day Yoga Detox. Kashi community members created soups, broths, ghee (clarified butter) and tea, as well as Detox packages, to help cleanse us physically, emotionally and spiritually for the new year. As part of the Detox, community members prepared, served, and helped enjoy a light, vegetarian Lungar (traditional Sikh meal) to break the three day juice fast.

December 9, 2006: Kashi Atlanta welcomes kirtan artist Snatam Kaur
Accomplished music soloist, songstress and poet Snatam Kaur brought her current "Celebrate Peace" World Tour to Kashi Atlanta, enthralling the audience with sacred yoga chant from the Bhakti Yoga tradition. Click here for images.

December 8 - 9, 2006: Kashi Atlanta Holiday Street Meals
On Friday evening over one hundred folks came to Kashi Atlanta and helped assemble 400 packages for our friends on the streets! The next day, the packages were distributed at a shelter and at a park we go to every week. Click here for images.

October 27 - 29, 2006: Structural Yoga Therapy with Mukunda Stiles
World-renowned master yogi Mukunda Stiles led a weekend workshop on yoga, ayurveda and the yoga sutras.

October 20 - 21, 2006: Kashi Atlanta welcomes kirtan artists Dave Stringer and David Newman
Nationally-acclaimed kirtan artist Dave Stringer rocked the house on Friday evening with his concert of classic yogic ecstatic chants. Click here for images.

October 14, 2006: Jaya Devi Bhagavati teaches at the Atlanta Yoga Conference
