Kashi’s 2008 Classical Yoga Teacher’s Training Program Begins

Over 40 aspiring yoga teacher began Kashi Atlanta’s Classical Yoga Teacher’s Training on January 4th. Participants were both very nervous and excited. The weekend began with an asana practice and brief kirtan (yogic chant). Jaya Devi then began to teach students what living Yoga is, from a classical yoga perspective. The following day, students introduced themselves and shared why they wanted to take the Course. The weekend then flowed, as students engaged in intense two hour yoga sadhanas and posture clinics led by Jaya Devi and other senior yoga instructors, and learned about the Yamas (ethical practices). The weekend ended with students jumping into their karma yoga project and forming an email group to share experiences and information.
