Kashi
Atlanta is an urban yoga ashram.
It’s satsang (a core group of individuals committed to
the teachings of yoga) contribute daily to creating and maintaining
a space of spiritual community, characterized by love, compassion,
and open-heartedness. This community provides emotional, spiritual,
and material support to people in need. Creating this space
of safety that extends outward into the world helps to provide
a lifeline to yoga that is very accessible, encouraging them
to integrate what they have learned into their everyday lives.
Kashi
Atlanta is an extension of Kashi Ashram in Sebastian, Florida.
Founded in 1977 by Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati, Kashi is a community
of people working and living together on a path of conscious,
intentional spirituality. The grounds of Kashi are in fact
a temple, and great care is taken to maintain an environment
that supports and nurtures the spiritual growth of its visitors
and residents. Kashi Atlanta has three residential quarters
where satsang live and work together in spiritual community.

Swami
Bhagavati Das hosted by Kashi Atlanta Satsang
The
Kashi Atlanta satsang hosted Swami Bhagavati Das, Ma Jaya's
sanyassin and head pujari, during his trip to Kashi Atlanta
February 21-22nd. Swami Bhagavati Das stayed at Agni House,
one of Kashi Atlanta's residential ashram houses during his
trip. He generously spent time with members and volunteers
both before and after his workshop on the Art of Puja (moving
prayer), and after his special darshan on the Bhagavad Gita
on February 21st.
The
following morning Swami Bhagavati Das performed a special
intimate dawn fire puja. Swami Bhagavati Das stayed long after
the puja, chatting and sharing Prasad (blessed food), and
of course, helping with the clean up.
